Find True Rest for Your Soul
A Mountain Refuge for Weary Leaders
Welcome to “Rest for the Weary”, a rest away from home, a shelter to those who are burnt out or just in need of a refreshment. The Barna Group estimates that 24% of pastors have considered quitting in the past year because of all of the increasing challenges they have faced.
Nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains, our home simultaneously functions as a retreat center for those in ministry, who need a break or encouragement from the day to day pressures that come. We were inspired by the work of Francis and Edith Schaffer, in their L’Abrie community, which began over 60 years ago and has greatly influenced people the world over.
Come and be reminded of the true rest found only in Our Creator within this place within the Blue Ridge.

Things To Do in Boones Mill, Virginia
Mill Mountain Park is one of the region’s most distinguished parks. Home to the famous Roanoke Star, Roanoke Parks and Recreation’s Discovery Center and Mill Mountain Zoo, Mill Mountain Park is a popular attraction for locals and tourists alike.
At the center of the park, the 200-foot tall Natural Bridge sits in a limestone gorge carved out by Cedar Creek. The park is more than just the Bridge; lush forests and rolling meadows showcase the area’s karst terrain and vistas of surrounding mountains, and the James River valley competes with the Bridge itself. Access these via 10 miles of hiking trails, including Cedar Creek Trail, which leads from the park’s Visitor Center under the bridge to Lace Falls with its 50-foot cascade.
Since 2014, Holly Jo’s Creekside Grill in Boones Mill has served fresh, handcrafted burgers and daily specials like meatloaf. Enjoy premium ingredients and local favorites in a cozy family setting.
The Roanoke River Greenway is the region’s signature project, the backbone of the greenway network following the river from west to east through the valley. It offers ten miles of pavement throughout the Valley.
